Marketing Manager

Location: Northwest (not Seattle or Portland)

A small established growing organization is looking for a Marketing Manager to help them drive and refine how the company communicates their brand and seasonal messaging to distributors and customers.

Summary:
You will be responsible for marketing and visual merchandising. Actively participate in the concept, design and on-time creation of marketing materials, seasonal campaigns, visual merchandising initiatives, catalog design, brand tools, digital marketing and social media efforts. The Marketing Manager works with distributors to ensure the company is developing marketing initiatives that drive sales and increase brand awareness in the company’s markets. Job Description:  

Administration: 

  • Partner with internal and external teams to develop and successfully execute seasonal marketing campaigns that drive sales and increase brand awareness.

  • Establish annual goals and budget for all marketing activities.

  • Forecast and manage budget throughout the year. Monitor expenditures in Marketing Department against budget goals.

  • Deliver quarterly and yearly marketing reports with marketing expenditures and marketing activity by territory.

  • Ensures that the details of material production are well managed and the development of sales presentation materials are timely.

  • Manages internal and external marketing approvals.

  • Establish seasonal calendars.

Personnel:

  • Oversees hiring and training of marketing and visual merchandising employees.

  • Acts as a positive role model through hard work, fairness, flexibility and commitment to communication.

  • Promotes effective use of staff time, including productive meetings.

  • Mediates conflict among staff when they have reached an impasse.

Design and Production:

  • Works closely with the product development, tech design and design departments to oversee the production of all printed materials.

  • Prepares visual materials for use in sales presentations.

  • Prepares and sends visual materials for use by internal staff, sales representatives, retailers and international distributors.

  • Follows up on development and approval of branded print materials produced by retailers and distributors.

Event Planning

  • Organize and manage seasonal sales meetings for international partners.

  • Organize and manage international tradeshows as needed.

  • Organize and manage photoshoots on a seasonal basis.

  • Foster strong relationships with distributors. Summarize and respond to distributor feedback post conference.

  • Provide marketing support for internal staff in preparation for each meeting.

  • Manage signage, marketing materials, and general VM for sales meetings.

  • Responsible for communication with attendees, registration, transportation coordination, meeting planning, hotel contract negotiations, rooming management, audio/visual management and rentals, organize social events, and generate floor plans.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to set meeting agenda. Ensure meeting agenda is adhered to on the day of each meeting to ensure on-time events.

  • Negotiate all contracts with vendors and venues maintaining focus on budgetary guidelines.

  • Establish and adhere to event budget.

  • Manage staff and distributors at events to ensure seamless execution.

  • Solicit feedback on all events to determine successes and areas of improvement.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors in Marketing, Communications or related field.

  • Management experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of new and emerging media, MS Office and Mac

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Positive, energetic, can-do attitude, team player

  • Social Media familiarity and experience including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn

  • Methodical and strategic thinking, combined with creativity

  • Strong strategic/analytical and decision making skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong prioritization skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects from concept through completion.

  • Experience leading others in the development and execution of creative projects.

  • Strong time management and project management skills - must be able to initiate and follow through on high volume of projects and follow through on execution in a timely fashion and prioritize projects as needed.
